Hindu Wedding + Sangeet + Baraat for Priya and Nikhil in the Hill Country
Are you looking for a non-traditional Hindu wedding venue where you can honor your Hindu heritage but also embrace modern wedding day elements also? Shiraz Garden has the diversity of spaces and aesthetics to make that day come to life!
Shiraz Garden, just east of Austin, is a garden focused venue with water features and covered outdoor spaces that make for a dreamy day for Hindu weddings when couples and their guests are here for most of the day and for multiple ceremonies. This usually entails using several different spaces to design their day.

The Sangeet
A Sangeet is a special part of the wedding day in Hindu, Punjabi, and Gujarati wedding days set aside to purposefully relish in the Happiness and Joy surrounding the couple! Traditionally, this was just for the female attendees but nowadays it’s a celebration for all!
Their joyful sangeet took place in our Indoor Banquet space giving them plenty of room to dance and laugh! This space adjoins the rest of the Formal Garden for an easy transition to lunch, lounging, and photos. It also is close to our Bridal and Groom’s cabins so an easy transition for changing clothes.
Baraat
Nikhil’s Baraatt (wedding procession) started at the string light entrance of the parking lot and went all the way past the Formal Garden and over the Sunset Vista. All wedding guests participated making it a truly memorable part of their day. This gave all their guests a unique experience of Shiraz Garden we adore as well — taking in all the wooded spaces along the way and feeling completely immersed in the Hill Country.
The string lights were the perfect place to start and where we would recommend our other couples have a Hindu ceremony to start this part of their day.
The Ceremony - Sunset Outdoor Wedding Vista
Priya and Nikhil’s ceremony started with the Baraat ending at Sunset Vista where they had a brightly colored Mandap to match their overall wedding theme full of colors from Rajasthan. Sunset Vista is our large outdoor ceremony site that overlooks the Colorado River as it runs through the bottom part of the property. The view from this spot (see behind the Mandap) is an expanse of the river valley and rolling hills giving photos a beautiful dimension to really capture the Texas Hill Country. Sunset Vista has power, water, and vendor parking to allow for elaborate setups and rentals.
The photos from this day are all too stunning not to share. Here is a selection of this meaningful ceremony with all the history and tradition these two wanted for their big day. October is also the most popular month for outdoor ceremonies in Texas for good reason. The weather is reliable and the trees are still green and the light is nothing but golden that time of year!
