The Spirit of Summer Nights

There is something special about a summer’s night. May is when things start to change and the evenings are pure magic. As the sun starts to set (…think ceremony time) the temperatures start to go down and something comes over the air with a breeze and that “let’s cheers our cocktails and dance” feeling comes over everyone!

We say it practically every night as we sit in the Formal Garden “I love summer nights.” Summer nights mean later weddings as ceremonies should still start 1-1.5 hours before sunset. As long as you are ok with a later celebration summer has its own energy you can feel in the crows!

Guest Activities on the Colorado River

May is when things really go into high gear for water activities in and around Austin. So many of our couples are from out of state, planning from out of state, or all their guests are coming from out of state for an Austin Destination wedding weekend! So May is the window into all things water-related your guests are going to love doing while they are here.

Wedding guests at Shiraz often talk about the fun they had at the lazy river at the Hyatt Lost Pines next door to Shiraz Garden. Or kayaking the Colorado after an amazing breakfast downtown or lunch at Neighbors. You can’t be that small-town feel of Bastrop when you add in a kayaking trip. Some of our couples encourage their guests to come as early as two days before to really take advantage of the water and fun things to do in Bastrop.
